Financial aid at Chapin

Financial aid is available at all grade levels and based solely on need. The Chapin School is committed to a financial aid program that has provided approximately $4.6 million in tuition aid for 21 percent of our student body in the 2012-2013 school year.

Returning students applying for financial aid for the first time should contact Mary Reynolds, Director of Student Accounts, at reynold2@chapin.edu or 212.570.4974.

New incoming students applying for financial aid should follow the instructions below.

How to apply for financial aid

  1. Complete the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) form.
  2. The following documentation must be submitted to the admissions office:
    • A photocopy of your completed PFS form.
    • Photocopies of your 1040 Federal Income Tax Returns for the 2011 and 2012 tax years, both personal and business returns.
    • Photocopies of all schedules, W-2 forms and/or 1099 forms. Tax documents for 2013 will be requested when appropriate.
Note: If you are filling out the PFS online, you have the option to upload these necessary documents and do not need to send copies by mail. If you would prefer to send copies of the required documents, please send them to the admissions office.
  3. Send the original PFS form to the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) in Massachusetts. Request that a copy of their report be forwarded to Chapin.
  4. Submit all financial aid documentation by January 10, 2014.

Financial aid funds are limited. If your daughter's admissions file and/or financial aid file are not complete by January 10, we may not be able to offer you any financial assistance.
